Vista Lights

The girls and I went down town to enjoy the Christmas lights and holiday fun. The Vista Lights is a big event with lots of free giveaways, a Christmas tree lighting, performances and more! This past Thursday night was very enjoyable and exactly what I needed to prepare me for this Christmas/Holiday Season.

Yep that's right, MUSTACHE CHRISTMAS TREES!

The North South Game

The North South game is one of the biggest games CIU has every year. It is so big in fact that even the alumni come out to watch or play in the game! The North South game is a flag football. There are two obvious teams, the North and the South. We have a woman's league and a men's league. So there is a total of four teams. The women play against each other, then the guys play.

Well this year I played! My first time ever playing flag football! Then came the tough decision of how to decide what team to play for, the North or the South? Now there are various questions that you need to ask yourself. the first question to ask: What part of the U.S. am I from? (South Carolina) And which region does this qualify me for? (Thankfully this is rather obvious, seeing how SC is below the Mason Dixon Line, this is usually a good indicator if you are from the north/south). What if I am a missionary kid? Where is your country located? Do you experience a lot of hot weather or cold? (Hot? the South it is! Cold? Better go with the north) If none of those suit your fancy then, where do you want to be from?, where are your friends playing?, where do you want to play?

It doesn't matter who you play for, as along as you play and have a great time; which is exactly what I did. Here are a few pictures from our game: (I played the offensive line aka defending the quarterback)

We played our hardest...

.... and were rewarded! :)

The South Team (& one of the coaches)

It was a lot of fun and perhaps next year (after I've graduated) I will come back and play for the South again!
